how does this work?
it’s very simple.
no, really! how does this work?
socialscienceblog.org is a free service. everyone is invited to register and start postings about relevant topics in the social sciences.
how do I find stuff relevant for me?
there are several ways to navigate in the blog.
- you can use the categories on the right to find information about conferences, books, call for papers, and so on.
- you can use the search field in the upper right if you are looking for something specific.
- you can use the archive on the right. just click on a specific date and it shows you the posts that have been added that month.
how do I write my own post?
first you have to register. click on the register link – for exuberant convenience the link can also be found in the column on the right. after you have provided your email address and password you will receive a confirmation email. click the link, login and your good to go!
what are the formatting instructions for posts?
in general, posts should be short and in an informing and not advertising language. every post must contain a link to a related website, otherwise it will be deleted (or, if the administrator looking at your post is in a good mood, the missing link will be added).
try to keep your posts in the way existing post are written. this way you are on the safe side.
don’t worry too much if you can’t get the link right, or don’t have the right words in bold or encounter any other problems while posting. usually an administrator will take care of the problems in notime.
I love this project. how can I become an administrator?
usually, people who post often are invited to become administrators by other administrators. if you feel, however, that being an administrator is absolutely the right thing for you even if you haven’t posted to much, send an email to adim[at]ssblog.org and include a short paragraph why you wanna be an admin for this page.
I don’t understand any of this. all I want is to have a post about my new book/event/conference/related topic online. what do I do?
just send an email to admin@ssblog.org
I am an it geek and totally know how to improve the usability of this blog. what do i do?
actually, you are the geek so you probably know better than we do. but why don’t you just email us about your ideas at admin@ssblog.org?
