Last Call: Theatrical improvisation of research data

A few places remain for our upcoming masterclass using improvisation techniques to interpret qualitative research data.

The masterclass will be led by myself and Sharon Muiruri who has lots of experience using tools from the theatre with non-theatre people.  No theatrical background required!  All that is needed is a willingness to participate and the ability to put any shyness aside!

This is also exciting from the standpoint of research as well in that we will be experimenting with using improv to interpret data from our on-going research project on older gay and lesbian citizens who have lived in the British countryside.  The ultimate goal is to come up with interpretations that have potential for the development of a film script that we will be creating for the Gay and Pleasant Land project.

This is not two days of theory, rumination or debate.  Rather, it is an opportunity for hands-on participation at the cutting edge of qualitative work and data interpretation.  Hopefully, you will go away from the two-day experience with ideas for your own research and new ways in which to interpret and disseminate it.
